According to the Sindh Health Department’s daily report, 5,412 dengue tests were conducted across the province in the last 24 hours, out of which 976 were positive. Karachi Division reported 528 new cases from 3,951 tests, while Hyderabad Division recorded 448 infections from 1,461 tests.

Health Secretary Rehan Baloch said that 127 dengue patients were admitted to government hospitals and 84 to private hospitals during the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, 96 patients recovered and were discharged from public facilities, while 79 were released from private hospitals after treatment.

He added that dengue infections continue to rise across the province, with 8,331 cases reported so far in November alone, pushing the total number of confirmed cases this year to 13,908. At present, 269 patients are under treatment in government hospitals and 184 in private facilities across Sindh.

To manage the increasing caseload, the provincial health department has designated 1,026 beds for dengue patients in public hospitals, including 293 in Karachi, 167 in Hyderabad, and 556 in other districts. In addition, 482 beds have been reserved in private hospitals, the health secretary said.

Officials reiterated that while the number of new dengue cases remains high, the fatality rate is still low compared to previous years, attributing the improvement to early diagnosis and better hospital preparedness. Health teams have been instructed to intensify surveillance and fumigation in high-risk areas of Karachi and Hyderabad to prevent further spread of the virus.
