KARACHI: Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) awarded postgraduate qualifications to 134 doctors who completed supervised training across 22 medical specialties, at its Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) Convocation held on Saturday.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Vice President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), attended the ceremony as chief guest.
The graduating classes of 2024 and 2025 included 130 doctors who completed the Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS) and four who completed the Membership of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (MCPS). The doctors underwent years of supervised clinical training at IHHN, where healthcare services are provided free of cost to all patients.
The convocation was held as part of ICON 2026, a healthcare conference taking place from October 8 to 17 in Karachi, Lahore and Muzaffargarh. Launched by IHHN in 2012, the conference brings together healthcare professionals to discuss emerging challenges and developments in the health sector.
This year’s conference focuses on developing resilient, sustainable and patient-centred healthcare systems in response to climate change. Preparing healthcare professionals to address future challenges is also a key priority, with the Indus University of Health Sciences contributing to medical education and professional development.
During the ceremony, five graduates received awards for outstanding performance in their respective categories. Dr. Sadia Bilal was recognised in Surgery & Allied, Dr. Irsa Nadeem in Medicine & Allied, Dr. Ameet Kumar in Diagnostics, Dr. Zainab Kamran in Pediatric Services, and Dr. Neelum Tahirkheli in Fellowship.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and recognition of the contributions of faculty members, programme directors and graduates’ families to the doctors’ academic and professional development.
