The participants were briefed on the performance of mobile health units, the availability of healthcare services in remote areas, laboratory testing, vehicle operations, digital records and monitoring mechanisms.

Officials said 20 mobile units, comprising 13 mobile diagnostic units and seven mobile health units, were providing services across 17 districts of Sindh.

According to the briefing, the model hospital has conducted 3,654 deliveries and provided medical facilities to 18,178 patients so far.

Essrani directed the relevant officials to make the directorate’s website and digital portal operational within one week. The portal will contain information on the directorate’s activities, patient records, medical tests, staff and vehicles to ensure access to reliable data and strengthen performance monitoring.

He also ordered officials to activate tracking systems in all mobile healthcare units and vehicles to monitor their movement, timely arrival, staff attendance and delivery of medical services. Detailed reports were sought from monitoring officers.

Expressing concern over the lack of public awareness about mobile healthcare services, the adviser directed the department to promote mobile hospitals through social, print and electronic media. He stressed that providing quality healthcare to the public must remain the top priority, with transparency, accountability and effective monitoring ensured across the directorate’s operations.
