Islamabad: The MDCAT 2026 results have been announced in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, while only the results for Balochistan and Islamabad are awaited, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council officials said on Friday.
In Sindh, SIBA Testing Services announced the provisional result of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test held on September 20, uploading the complete list of candidates from the highest to the lowest score on its website.
A separate list of candidates meeting the minimum qualifying criteria prescribed by the PMDC has also been announced. Candidates require at least 55 per cent marks to qualify for admission to medical colleges and 50 per cent for admission to dental colleges.
Sukkur IBA University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Ahmed Sheikh, who heads SIBA Testing Services, confirmed the announcement of the provisional result and congratulated candidates who had secured the required marks.
He said the examination was conducted at nine centres established in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Sukkur and Islamabad.
Prof Sheikh said the multiple-choice questions were obtained from the PMDC question bank and selected after careful scrutiny. The question paper comprised 180 MCQs, while four different versions were prepared for the examination.
He said the papers were sealed before being dispatched to the examination centres, while answer keys were prepared only after the test had been completed.
According to him, every answer was checked three to four times against the prescribed syllabus and relevant textbooks before the answer keys were uploaded to the website on the night of the examination.
Prof Sheikh said some parents had raised objections over holding the test in intense heat, but added that the PMDC was the regulatory authority for medical education.
He said SIBA Testing Services had previously conducted two MDCAT examinations and had not allowed the question papers to be leaked. The decision not to return question papers to candidates after the examination had also been taken by the PMDC, he added.
SIBA Testing Services said candidates finding any error or discrepancy in their provisional results could submit complaints by email until 5pm on Saturday, September 26.
Complaints should be sent to sts@iba-suk.edu.pk with “Result Grievances-MDCAT-2026” written in the subject line. Complaints received after the deadline will not be entertained.
The testing service said relevant complaints would be examined and candidates informed of the outcome through email. The final Sindh MDCAT result will be announced on September 27 after completion of the grievance process.
