Admissions in medical, dental colleges closed from April 15, late students will not be registered: PMDC

Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has announced that admissions in medical and dental colleges for the 2025–2026 academic session have been closed from April 15, 2026, warning that students enrolled after this date will not be registered.

According to a notification issued by the council, all recognised medical and dental institutions across the country have been directed not to grant admissions beyond the cut-off date, failing which such admissions will be treated as illegal.

The PMDC said admissions made after April 15 would constitute a violation of the PMDC Act 2022 and relevant rules and regulations. Such students will not be issued registration numbers and their admissions will be considered null and void.

The notification stated that the directives have been issued with the approval of the competent authority and are binding on all institutions and universities involved in the admission process nationwide.

The council urged all stakeholders to ensure strict compliance with the rules to maintain transparency, merit and standards in medical and dental education.
