Last night, I received a call from a credible source who said that for five days, since Monday, medicine trucks were not being allowed to enter Islamabad because heavy traffic had been restricted due to anticipated US-Iran talks.
These trucks were carrying temperature-sensitive medicines, including insulin, vaccines and other life-saving drugs. Hospitals and pharmacies in the capital were close to running short.
I reported the issue on Geo News. Within a couple of hours, the Islamabad administration and the interior ministry took notice. By late Friday night, the stranded trucks were finally allowed to enter the city. Coverage on other channels, following my report on Geo and vitalsnews.com, added pressure, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered immediate clearance for all medicine vehicles.
